— to honor women and heal mothers by providing financial assistance for specialty postpartum care.
Why is postpartum care so important?
Immediately after birth a woman’s body is nutritionally depleted and often vulnerable from the stresses of birth. It is important to take the time needed to recover and properly heal.
What is specialty postpartum care?
This is an at home service for new mothers which includes – delivery of nutritious meals, smoothies and teas, warming treatments, belly binding, emotional support and baby bonding techniques. This healing program helps to balance hormones, induce lactation, uplift spirits and heal the body quicker than it would without these treatments. Having this type of postpartum care can also greatly reduce the onset of postpartum depression.
Is this a new kind of healing treatment?
No. This kind of care has always existed for new mothers in most countries around the world. However, the United States is one of the only countries in the world that does not offer postpartum care in its medical model or culture. Because seventy percent of new mothers get the baby blues, and a minimum of thirty five percent get postpartum depression in our country we feel this care should be available and affordable for all new mothers.
Many new mothers do not have a support system in place and feel uncomfortable asking for help from friends and family. Even when women do have an emotional support system, they often do not have a trained healer who can offer holistic postpartum support to help them truly heal after their birth.
We have created a win/win economic and social stimulus loop.
We have two sources of income: Online Training & Practitioner Listing
Online Training - Women pay for certification, this is job training, it’s affordable - women get a rewarding career, that pays well - job creation.
Practitioner Listing - Practitioners/postpartum doulas & caregivers can be listed on our website - for $25 annually - affordable advertising.
Money from certification cost & practitioner listing goes to pay for financial assistance - the money for assistance goes to the practitioners who get hired, practitioners nurture, love and support new mothers. Happy Mamas equal happy families. Happy families create happy communities.
To recap: well paid rewarding jobs are created, money to pay practitioners is created, and the positive support a mother receives radiates out to her family and in turn the community. It is a win win stimulus loop.
We would like to inform you about our newest fundraising initiative... Dynamic Pay. Through this mobile rewards program, you will be able to make a donation to us every time you make a purchase. At the same time, you can save money on that purchase and put some dollars back into your pocket.

PCF acknowledges that the land where we manage the Postpartum Care Foundation was not freely given. Indigenous peoples from several tribes were the original stewards of this land. Our benefit from this land came at a dire cost to the indigenous people and I give thanks to them. ~ adapted from Suzanne Arms
