Congratulations! You are on your way to a rewarding, financially stable career, one that makes a difference in people’s lives. You will be entering into the intimate setting of a new family, you will become a trusted friend to many, and maybe even extended family. Being present and professional is important, and so is loving the act of caring. After much research, I’ve discovered there is no one or right way to give postpartum care. However, there are many common elements from cultures around the world that are similar and beneficial. Those similar elements are presented here in this course. They are known for being postpartum specific treatments to quicken healing, help balance hormones and induce lactation.
There is no time limit to finish this course, so go at your own pace. We do suggest that you aim to finish it within one year to achieve the best retention results.
Similar to a college course, you will have textbooks, required reading, assignments and testing of your skills. It is recommended that you read every book listed from cover to cover. Each section will assign specific pages in different books to be able to complete the lessons. Please see materials section for list of required textbooks.
May all mothers be loved, nurtured and supported, so be it.
